The Old Cellar
Part of the original 1850’s wine cellar, the Old Cellar is a multi-functional venue looking to the mountain on one side and to the vineyards and wheat fields on the other. Used sometimes as a chapel, the Old Cellar accommodates workshops, retreats, conferences, celebrations and spiritual services. Numbers vary according to event. For a wedding ceremony, 80 can be seated on benches; for a sit-down meal 60 can be accommodated; for workshops using desks, 40. The cellar includes a tiled courtyard, a small front garden and a large back garden with beautiful views and a fully appointed kitchen for self-catered events. There is also a bathroom with two showers.
With the recent launch of the nature reserve, the Old Cellar also functions as an accessible and affordable venue for the community. We welcome NGO’s, community groups, wilderness groups and church congregations for both day and overnight self-catered events. For the latter, the Old Cellar is converted to dormitory-style accommodation for participants.
