A wonderful week-long workshop for The Engine Room
14 members of the organisation The Engine Room spent a week on Fynbos for their annual staff meeting, team building and strategic planning. They describe themselves as follows:
“We are an international organisation that accelerates the fight for social justice by advancing civil society’s strategic, responsible and effective use of data and technology. We are a diverse, passionate group of nomads and cautious optimists. As a team we have expertise in everything from information activism to responsible data to inclusive facilitation.”
The organisation works with a wide range of organisations, including local civil society organisations across the globe, like Japiqay in Peru and ACCU in Uganda, and large international organisations like Oxfam, GIZ, and others. They work and live in a similarly diverse set of countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
It was a wonderful week for us and seemingly for them too. They worked hard, laughed a lot and were gracious and open and easy to host.
